I studied literature and had a professional career in journalistic and commercial writing, before I became a documentary photographer. 

I studied photography with Forum Beeldtaal and the Fotoacademy in Amsterdam. 

 

My autonomous projects were published in British, Dutch and Belgian newspapers (The Guardian, Trouw, De Volkskrant, De Limburger, De Standaard, De Morgen) and magazines like National Geographic Magazine, Dodho, Focus and Pf. Most of my projects deal with current social themes. Between 2016 and 2020 I made an interactive multimedia documentary about life in a migrant suburb. Other projects are related to the pandemic, the floods in the Walloon region, the impact of Brexit on young adults in the United Kingdom and the impact of the war in Ukraine on the lives of young people who grew up after the collapse of the Soviet Union (1991) and live between two spheres of influence from Europe and Russia. My latest project is about the impact on the population of the collapse of the mining industry in Limburg , the region in The Netherlands where I live sinds 1990.
